Art Deco Rings

The Art Deco era lasted from the mid-1920s to the late 1930s. The style is characterized by rich and bold colors, geometric patterns, and extended ornamentation. Rings from the era are often quite prominent in their appearance, and typically feature a larger center stone that's highlighted by an intricate design of smaller stones and engravings.

The Art Deco period was an important era for diamonds. The Baguette cut became very popular, as well as the French cut – a square-cut style with a lot of geometric planes and completely in line with Art Deco fashion. For that very reason, Asscher-cut stones were also quite popular. This particular cut was named after its inventor, Joseph Asscher, who is known for cutting the famous Cullinan diamond, now part of the British Crown Jewels.

Many brands like Tiffany & Co. and Cartier still have Art Deco-inspired rings in their current collection. Given the high-quality materials used in Art Deco rings and the excellent craftsmanship of the period, vintage Art Deco rings can also be used for daily wear.
