The painting was purchased in the 1960's from the artist on a trip out West and the model was told to be the wife of the artist. In excellent condition, the painting is signed lower middle right and measures 28" by 24" in frame. Abeita has had a monumental career as a Native American artist and one, after attending art school and living in Chicago for a time, made the decision to return to his land and paint what he loved; the landscape and people of the Diné.. A fantastic piece of work by this artist.
