Achert", watercolor and body color on paper, 16-1/4 x 13-3/8 in.; original gilt wood frame with French mat; lot accompanied by circa 1904 post card with similar view. Toning, taped in, minor foxing.

Ca early 20th century, in a gilt frame, 15" x 11" (image only), 22.5" x 18.5" (w/frame). Fred Achert (1847-1928) was born in Baden, Germany and was active in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. He was a designer, lithographer, crayon artist and oil painter. He owned his own lithography firm, Achert and Henkel. He was a member of the Cincinnati Art Club. From the Estate of John Auraden of Hamilton & Fairhaven, Ohio. Moderate toning throughout, not removed from frame for examination; VG-.
