                    Description: Yaacov Agam (Israel, b. 1928), Agamagram, pencil signed lower right, numbered '3/25 Artist's Proof' lower left, the optical illusion image depicting geometric shapes in shades of white, black, pink and blue, inscribed on verso with repeated rainbow, signature and 'A.P,' with inscription from previous owner on back of frame, in a white frame. Frame size: 24 in. x 23 1/8 in. Yaacov Agam is an Israeli artist best known for his pioneering of Kinetic Art. His lenticular prints, or Agamagrams, made illusory images appear depending on the audience's viewpoint. Agam studied in Jerusalem, Zurich, and Paris. While attending Zurich's Kunstgewerbe Schule, Agam studied under the renowned color theorist Johannes Itten, before moving to Paris in 1951. Agam has gone on to become the subject of retrospectives at the Musee National d'Art Moderne and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. His works are included in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, D.C., and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, among others.
