      Charles d'Agar (attr.) (French, 1669 - 1723) Portrait of Henry Bainbrigge Buckeridge wearing a purple coat, circa 1723 Oil on canvas 17 3/4" x 13 7/8"   An 18th century portrait on canvas of a boy, identified on an antique label to the reverse as Colonel Henry Bainbrigge (Baynbrigge) Buckeridge (1714-1768/88), husband of Catharine Pinfold (1717-1788). The work has previously run at auction, appearing in the Artnet database with the attribution to painter Charles d'Agar, who worked in London when Henry Bainbrigge Buckeridge was young. Housed in a fine gilt relief frame measuring 24" x 20".
