        Pietro Savorelli (around 1765 - around 1783 ibid.) after Luigi Agricola (1759 Rom - 1821 ibid.): The Washing of the Feet by Filippo NERI, c. 1800, Copper engraving Technique: Copper engraving on Paper Date: c. 1800 Description: inscribed on the right below the depiction "Pietro Savorelli incise", inscribed on the left below the depiction "Luigi Agricola inv.e.dis.", named "S. Philippus Neri". Depiction of Filippo NERI in an interior room, kneeling before a man. While NERI washes the man's feet, other figures watch the scene. Filippo NERI is considered an outstanding figure of the Counter-Reformation in 16th century Rome. Shortly after his death, Philip NERI was beatified by Pope Paul V in 1600, and he was canonised in 1622. Keywords: 19th century, Romanticism, Biblical, Italy, Size: 26,9 cm x 19,3 cm (10,6 x 7,6 in), Depiction: 20,3 cm x 14,7 cm (8 x 5,8 in) Condition: Good condition. Still in good condition. Pale discolourations and faint crease marks all over. Crease trace at left margin, corners of the sheet are bumped.
