Rasoul Akbarlou Sold at Auction Prices

b. 1985 -

Born in 1985 in Khoy, Iran, Rasoul Akbarlou is a contemporary artist known for exploring the abstract properties of the Arabic script, through calligraphy. By turning writing into a bold and almost abstract drawing, the artist attempts to give it a universal and timeless character, combining both contemporary art and ancient scripture, which unfolds into stylish arabesques. After attending Shahed and Tehran Art Universities from 2010 to 2014, Rasoul Akbarlou therefore made abstract calligraphies his area of expertise and won different prices such as the first price at the Visual Art Festival for young Painters (2010) in Tehran.
