      Oil/canvas, 81 x 120 cm, lo. le. sign. and dat. Ed. Anderson 1909, on the stretcher inscribed 'An der Fähre', on the frame fragment of an exhibiton label, possibly Königsberg or Berlin. - German landscape painter. A. studied 1893-1905 at the Königsberg academy. In 1888 he was at the Curonian Spit for the first time, later he became a member of the Nida artist's colony. 1897-1920 he was head of the graphic collection of the Königsberg university. He was also head of the art museum and local history museum as well as teacher at the arts and crafts school. A. travelled extensively, however East Prussian landscapes are distinctive for his oeuvre. Mus.: Berlin (Nat.-Gal.), Schwerin.
