Biography

Nika is a self-representing artist in Toronto. She loves to paint in oil, mixed media and acrylic.

As an artist who has been painting for over a decade, she only recently decided to start selling her art. Previously, she would offer her artwork as gifts to family, friends and various organizations. Upon hearing one friend's remark on how expensive original abstract art can be, Nika embarked on a new passion - to provide original, hand painted, affordable abstract artwork. Every home should have a splash of colour!

She recently opened an eBay store, where she auctions off some of her pieces from time to time. Nika strives for the best quality in both materials and finish. All her paintings are created with care.

She personally prepares every painting for shipment using bubble wrap and strong cardboard to ensure it is delivered safely and securely. Nika's original paintings are contemporary, modern and uniquely hers.

Nika's paintings bring zest, colour and positivity to bare walls. Each painting has a corresponding title and conveys a pleasing emotional quality.

Gardening provides inspiration for Nika's paintings. In her garden, she grows herbs, vegetables and flowers and enjoys being surrounded by trees, beautiful patterned skies, and crisp northern air. Nature is the quintessential designer and an unending source of learning. For Nika, it's about the little pleasures in life such as simply walking through a forest. Or laying down among the flower fields and taking in their scent, which overwhelms with positive feelings that are then joyfully shared on canvas.

Nika feels a connection with each painting that is hard to describe. It is as if the canvas befriends Nika through the painting process. This guides the direction of the artwork, adding curves here or a pigment there. After a painting is complete, Nika feels as if she came back from a different reality. There are times when it may seem that Nika's real life is in the canvas and the abstract one in the everyday! Painting for Nika is a deep experience, one from which she often needs some moments to adjust herself to the actual reality around her. Nika can’t pass by a blank canvas without it calling to her.

All of her paintings are original and inspired by nature and her imagination. It is her hope to offer original affordable abstract art to everyone who wishes it.
