        Nikolay Andronov, Russian, 1929 to 1998, mixed media painting on paper depicting The Ferapontov Monastery, 1982. Signed and dated lower right. Dated lower left. On the back of the painting there is a thank you inscription in Russian addressed by the artist to the curator Wolfgang Becker: No. 82, Ferapontov Monastery. To Mr. Becker with gratitude for the excellent exposition of our exhibition in Aachen on March 12th. Andronov. Framed. The Ferapontov Monastery, in the Vologda region in northern Russia, is an exceptionally well preserved and complete example of a Russian Orthodox monastic complex of the 15th to 17th centuries, a period of great significance in the development of the unified Russian state and its culture. Nikolay Andronov is known for Social realist figurative and portrait painting, still life. abstraction. Nikolai Andronov was a gifted and thoughtful Russian Soviet artist who was one of the founders of Severe style and has played a vital role in the process of transformation of art and changes in its fundamental concepts in the 1960s and later. One of a kind artwork.
