(Occasional light offsetting of plates onto text.) Contemporary green half roan, decorated paper boards, spine gilt, edges gilt (some light wear along edges). A fine guide book to British country homes and manors. Angus includes charming views of Basildon House in Berkshire, Grove House in Middlesex, Lumley House in Durham, and Merton-Place in Surrey. Engraved title and 63 plates after Sandby, Dayes, Repton, Nattes and others. (Some offsetting of plates onto text, more pronounced towards the end, occasional light spotting and staining.) Contemporary black straight-grained morocco gilt (rebacked, rubbed and lightly soiled). Brunet I, 296; Lowndes I, 47; Upcott xxxiv. Paul Sandby's view of Brocket Hall and its park is illustrated above.
