Ansingh, Lizzy (Dutch 1875-1959) Moederpop met babypop in pronkkinderstoel, met een tafel met serviesgoed 1844 olie op doek 50 x 40 cm gemon. r.o. en gedat 44 achterzijde ges Lizzy Ansingh Lizzy Ansingh (1875-1959) ontmoette Piet Mondriaan en speelde een prominente rol binnen de Amsterdamse Joffers. Het was lastig voor de vrouwelijke studentes aan de Rijksacademie in Amsterdam om zich te handhaven. Daarom besloten ze om een vrouwelijke kunstenaarsclub te beginnen. Binnen de Joffers speelde Ansingh een belangrijke rol met haar eigenzinnige werk, scherpe tong en tomeloze ambitie. Als kind was ze vaak te vinden in het atelier van haar tante, de societykunstenares ThÃ©rÃ¨se Schwartze. In 1910 kocht ze bij veilinghuis Frederik Muller in Amsterdam een achttiende eeuws poppenhuis. Het poppenhuis had een belangrijke plaats in haar atelier aan de Herengracht in Amsterdam, en nam bijna een hele muur in beslag. Het schilderij Poppenmoeder met babypop in de pronkkinderstoel 1944 is geÃ¯nspireerd door het poppenhuis. De twee poppen zijn gesitueerd in de salonkamer op de tweede etage. Op de tafel staat een zilveren kraantjeskan en een theeserviesje. Lizzy Ansingh schilderde de poppenmoeder tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog. In deze periode vluchtte ze vaak in haar eigen fantasie wereld. Resale right

Lot with 4 letters from Lizzy Ansingh to her client, Mrs. Vink. Three of these written in 1955 and 1956. Ansingh asks her to come visit again and show her old works again. Moreover, she reminisces "Herinner mij die uit 1898 toen Breitner er voor zorgde dat ik er een doorloopende kaart voor, ik weet niet meer hoe lang, voor kreeg. Ik ben druk aan 't werk, maakte kleine poppenschilderijen, een moeder met wieg, een meid vol plichtsbesef met mattenklopper - en een fee met gouden tooverstaf, deze maakte ik vandaag". She signs one letter with "Lizzy Ansingh oud 81", another with "stok oud". In original envelopes, with two added cards.

All with Historisch Museum Arnhem labels and two with Van Abbemuseum labels on the reverse. Craquelure in places, occasional small losses (incl. two scratches with inpaint), edges rubbed behind the frames, varnish sl. yellowed in places.
