ALENA ANTONOVA (*1930): THE BRIDE

Czech painter and printmaker Alena Antonová studied at the Academy of Art, Architecture and Design in Prague in 1949–1955 under Professor Emil Filla, whose influence remained a stable inspiration throughout her work. Throughout her life she remained faithful to forms of expression and regular subjects such as the female figure, often shown with a cat or dog, still lifes and folk songs. Initially Alena Antonová focused on painting, but over time she transitioned to fine graphic art.
