        This lot features an oil on canvas sunset landscape painting by Charles P. Appel. Appel (American, 1857 - 1928) was born in Brooklyn and spent most of his life in East Orange, New Jersey. As a young man, he studied under William Merritt Chase and Luis Mora at the New York School of Art and with Frank DuMond at the Art Students League.
