            Original vintage sport poster for the 1972 Summer Olympic Games held from 26 August to 11 September 1972 in Munich Germany featuring a design by the Japanese artist and architect Shusaku Arakawa 荒川 修作 (1936-2010) depicting photography frames of a runner with different coloured paint below each image on a silver graph paper background with a colourful flowing line and bold black line above, the Olympic Rings and Munich Olympics logo with the title in German below - Olympische Spiele Munchen 1972. One of the series of posters by various popular artists of the period (Peter Phillips, Horst Antes, Otl Aicher, David Hockney among others) commissioned to design the 1972 Olympic Games posters in Germany for their advertising campaign, which aimed to "represent the intertwining of sports and art worldwide. The 1972 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XX Olympiad, was an international multi-sport event held in Munich, West Germany, from 26 August to 11 September 1972. He had a personal and artistic partnership with the writer and artist Madeline Gins that spanned more than four decades in which they collaborated on a diverse range of visual mediums, including: painting & printmaking, experimental filmmaking, performance art, and architectural & landscape design.
