      DESCRIPTION: Dave Archer (American, B. 1941). Reverse painting on glass. Depicts an alien solar system. Etched signature and date "89" lower right. Paper label verso. In a simple black frame. Dave Archer is a pioneer of modern reverse glass electric painting and has provided art for numerous television shows and movies including Star Trek The Next Generation and Star Trek VI - The Undiscovered Country. PROVENANCE: From the collection of Jim Mees, Emmy award-winning set designer who worked on television and movies for four decades including Star Trek The Next Generation, Star Trek Enterprise, Star Trek Voyager, Gilmore Girls, and Bones. Mees passed away in 2013 at his home in Selinsgrove, PA. MEASUREMENTS: 31-3/4" x 6-34". Overall with frame 32-1/4" x 7-1/2". CONDITION: Minor wear to frame as expected with display.

      Dave Archer American (b. 1941) OTHER WORLDS reverse painting on glass, framed, signed & dated: lower right and verso, 1975 H19 1/2" W15 1/2" *Artist biography: Best known for high voltage space art, which is known as reverse glass or verso painting, Dave Archer creates work using millions of volts of electricity as a paint brush. He began this type of work in 1970, as a joint venture with Ron Russell. Archer's work has been used in numerous book cover illustrations and for television programs such as "Eye to Eye with Connie Chung" and some of the "Star Trek" series.
