Oil on canvas Russia, 1987 Vasili Akimovich Arlashin (1923-1998) - Russian Painter Signed, titled and dated in Cyrillic on the verso 'V. Arlashin. The Moring. 1987' Dimensions, framed: 64.8 x 84.2 cm Good condition The present painting by Vasili Arlashin shows in expressionist style a Russian landscape scene. The screen is divided into four zones, which build up as layers to each other. The lower third presents a waterside scenery with trees, the focus here is on the farmer with his two horses, he is about to leave the painting via the right side. The other two thirds of the painting are divided into water and mountain landscape, over which the most dominant zone covers: the sky part, in which the sun radiates an incredible force. The work is painted with vibrant, jagged and impasto brush strokes. The mix of colorful, pastel colors of the landscape and the relief of the sun in the center of the image gives this work its expressive power. The painting is in good condition. There are framing marks and loss of color at the canvas edges. The image shows craquelure especially in the area of the sky. The painting also has some color losses, especially in the left lower part. The canvas is signed, titled and dated in Cyrillic on the reverse 'V. Arlashin. The Moring. 1987'. The frame shows wear. The overall framed dimensions are 64.8 x 84.2 cm. The stretcher measures 60 x 79 cm. Vasili Akimovich Arlashin (1923-1998) Vasili Arlashin was born 1923 in the village Swinschus in Central Russia.
