Aubry' Bulbous, towards the neck retracted shape with flared lip Height: 38 cm Very good condition Decorative vase with partly crystalline glaze in subtle brown, green, blue and pink shades; artworks by Aúbry fetch up to €5,700 at international auctions This ceramic vase was built around 1920 created by Belgian ceramic artist Edgar Aúbry. The vase is made of brown stoneware shards and has a bulbous body that retracts toward the neck and terminates in a flared lip. It is decorated with running glaze in subtle shades of brown, cream, green and blue to pink colors. A special feature of ceramics since the Art Nouveau is the partially crystalline glaze which gives the surface an interesting structure and particular shade. The vase is provided at the bottom with a recessed signature 'E. Aubry'. It is 38 cm tall and in very good condition with only minor signs of age and wear.
