Aubry, Louis François (1767 Paris - 1851 Batignolles, französischer Maler und Miniaturist, porträtierte viel am französischen Hof, u.a. Familie Bonaparte) nach, "Porträt Ludwig XVI", Miniatur auf Elfenbein, bezeichnet und datiert seitlich links L. Aubry 1788, 7.3 x 5.7 cm (oval), unter Glas gerahmt, Kanten minimal berieben. Provenienz: erworben am 8.3.1984 im Antiquitätenhaus Johann Schmidt Siegburg; seit dem in Familienbesitz. Laut des vorliegenden Gutachtens kann die Miniatur auf die erste Hälfte des 19. Jahrhundert datiert werden und entstammt der Hand eines Französischen Meisters. CITES-Verkaufsgenehmigung liegt vor.

AUBRY LOUIS-FRANÇOIS (1767-1851), ATTRIBUÉ À. Portrait de Jérôme Bonaparte, roi de Westphalie (1784-1860). Miniature ovale peinte sur ivoire, vers 1810, le représentant en buste de trois-quarts gauche et en uniforme blanc de l’infanterie westphalienne portant les plaques de Commandeur de l’Ordre de la Couronne de Westphalie et de Grand Croix de l’Ordre de la Légion d’honneur, sur fond de ciel nuageux. Traces de signature à droite, vraisemblablement Aubry, à l’instar des signatures habituelles du célèbre miniaturiste. Légères usures. Conservée sous verre dans un cadre ovale à trépied en bronze doré surmonté d’un nœud enrubanné. Porte une étiquette blanche collée au dos du cadre avec le n° 217/2. H. 5.3 x L. 3.5 cm (à vue). Provenance : - Collection de Caroline Murat (1782-1839), reine de Naples. - Son fils, Lucien Murat (1803-1878), 3e prince Murat. - Son fils, Joachim Murat (1834-1901), 4e prince Murat, au château de Chambly. - Son fils, Joachim Napoléon Murat (1856-1932), 5e prince Murat, au château de Chambly. - Puis par descendance. Références : On sait qu’Aubry, élève d’Isabey, a peint 4 portraits miniatures du roi Jérôme, frère cadet de l’empereur Napoléon Ier. Une première est passée en vente chez Christie’s Londres le 12 juin 2006, lot 64. Une deuxième est passée en vente chez Christie’s Londres le 10 juin 2010, lot 164. Une troisième est passée en vente chez Christie’s Londres les 26-27 novembre 2013, lot 141. Il semble que la nôtre soit très probablement la quatrième, bien que la signature en partie effacée nous empêche de l’affirmer.
