      ALICE AUSTEN (1866-1952) Group of 7 photographs, including 6 of her Street Types and one formal portrait of an elegant woman. These photographs were printed on request in the darkroom of the Staten Island Richmond town Historical Society from the original negatives by Anthony A. Lanza, a New York City press photographer (1930s-50s) and President of the Historical Society during the time these were made. Silver prints, four toned, the images measuring approximately 10 1/4x13 1/4 inches (26x33.7 cm.), one the reverse, the sheets slightly larger, one with Austen's credit in the negative; three with a Staten Island Historical Society stamp with Austen's credit, the subject, negative number, location, negative date, and Anthony Lanza's printing notations "This print is entirely the work of my hands" in ink, and the remaining with the negative number in pencil, on verso. 1890s; printed 1977-early 80s
