Over more than a decade Yair Barak has established a complicated syntax, set up as a visual ontology. working around the boundaries of photography, he consistently deals with notion on power mechanisms, Modernity and the roots of western cultures

In Regarding history, Barak raises questions about the history of nature, cultural agencies and conflicts. Immersion is a dark notion on the architectural discourse of modernism Plagiarism & revolutions is an orchestral installation, carrying notions on classicism, modernity and cultural appropriations. In Barak's time based work (the mansion, ein grosses has, Mach mehr als kunst, lost & found) the artist uses an indexical method. The static camera is pointed towards iconic signifiers of duality and controversy.
