      pencil on paper Original storyboard made by Joe Barbera for the short film n. 93 of Tom & Jerry titled "Designs On Jerry", produced by MGM Studios in 1955. The popular Tom & Jerry series was born at MGM Studios in 1940, under the guidance of Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera who made 114 animated shorts until 1957. This particular storyboard represents the genesis of one of the most famous and iconic episodes of the entire series and is an incredible witness of the genius of Barbera. The page contains Barbera's notes to layout manager Dick Bickenbach (Bick), longtime collaborator of the future Hanna and Barbera Studios for The Flintstones and The Yogi Bear Show. Signed.

      68. Original storyboard panel drawing from It’s Greek to Me-Ow! (MGM Studios, 1961) Original production storyboard panel drawing featuring ”Tom and Jerry” from, It’s Greek To Me-Ow! The Tom and Jerry theatrical series originated at MGM Studios in 1940, under the guidance of Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera. The series was extremely popular and 114 theatrical shorts were made by Hanna and Barbera through 1957. After Hanna and Barbera left to form their own studio, MGM revived the series in 1960 using a European animation studio, Rembrandt Films, and director Gene Deitch to produce the series. Accomplished in graphite, and colored pencil on untrimmed 5.25 x 6.25 in. animation paper. Total image size is 3.5 x 5.25 in. Paper condition is fine with very little wear throughout. $100 - $200

The Tom and Jerry Theatrical series originated at MGM Studios in 1940, under the guidance of Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera. The series was extremely popular and 114 theatrical shorts were made by Hanna and Barbera through 1957. This particular storyboard page was hand-drawn and signed by Joe Barbera. The page (whose scene appears in the final version) has notes from Barbera to layout artist Dick Bickenbach (“Bick”) who was uncredited on this short. Bickenbach later followed Hanna and Barbera to their new studio and was responsible for layout and design on The Flintstones and The Yogi Bear Show. Accomplished in graphite, and colored pencil on untrimmed 10.5 x 12.5 in. animation paper. Total image size is 10.5 x 12.5 in. Paper condition is fine with very little wear throughout. $200 - $400
