Anthony Raine Barker (1880-1963) A DOCKYARD SCENE WITH FACTORIES AND SHIPS, TWO SAILORS IN THE FOREGROUND Signed, oil on panel 21.5 x 27cm Anthony Raine Barker was born in Harrow. Initially trained as an architect, in 1909 he won the RIBA Soane Medallion for Design, and the Certificate of Honourable Mention in 1910. Known for his architectural subjects and landscapes, he also designed posters for the London Underground between 1913-1914. His work is exhibited at the V & A in London and the Walker Gallery in Liverpool.
