Painter, Comiczeichner, b. 1901 - d. 2000

As an artist for Disney from 1935, Carl Barks (1901-2000) created cartoon characters that included Scrooge McDuck, the money loving uncle of Donald. Carl Barks' art soon became a major part of Disney productions, and he helped create numerous Donald Duck short movies. He was later employed at Western Publishing, the comic book division of Disney. Comic book fans soon discovered who Banks was when he exhibited and sold some of his artwork, and they commissioned him to do paintings of his famous Disney Ducks. His popularity continued to grow, and Carl Barks' paintings and lithographs are much sought after.
