        UNITED STATES, 1881-1966 Two World War I National War Garden Commission posters created in 1919 by Maginel Wright Enright Barney. Titled "The Seeds of Victory Insure the Fruits of Peace", the first poster depicts a cheerful young boy grasping a hoe and marching through a bare field accompanied by smiling vegetables holding an American flag. "The Seeds of Victory Insure the Fruits of Peace" is boldly printed across the top while "National War Garden Commission" reads across the bottom. Titled "War Gardens Over the Top" the second poster depicts a surprised young boy surrounded by walking vegetables. "War Gardens Over the Top" is prominently displayed across the top while "For Free Books Write to National War Garden Commission" is noticeably written along the bottom.
