        • 11 L. Barth & Son GDA Limoges Dishes
          Mar. 15, 2018

11 L. Barth & Son GDA Limoges Dishes

          Est: $45 - $125

These Dishes were produced in the early 1900's in Limoges France By GDA.  The GD stands for E. Gerard et Dufraiuseix. The A stands for Abbott who was the importer and distributor for these wares in NYC. GD had bought Charles Haviland around 1882. GD added A in 1901 and used that mark until 1941. L Barth & Sons of New York were an important wholesaler of chinaware for hotels and railroads etc., which appears to have been in operation from around 1900 to c.1950.  Therefore it is possible for these to be Early Railroad China which would explain why these pieces are sturdier than most Limoges china.  They measure approximately 4" by 5" by 1.25" tall.  No cracks or chips were discovered on these pieces.
