Stanislas Barthélémy , known as Stanislas , born on September 30 , 1961 in Rennes , is an illustrator and author of French comics .

Draftsman inspired by the clear line , he is notably known to have been one of the seven co-founders of the alternative publishing house L'Association in 1990. The simplicity of his line allows him to be often solicited by advertising.


While studying interior architecture, Stanislas turned to comics by publishing in two fanzines: Electrode (1982) and Recto-Verso (1983), in the context of the AJBD, under the direction of Christian Lary, that He is responsible for comic book workshops of the City of Paris (ADAC).

In 1983, he met the Versaillais Jean-Christophe Menu , director of the fanzine Le Lynx à tifs , in which Stanislas took part from the third issue, and the Association for the Apology of the Ninth Free Art (AANAL), where he published a small album in the collection " Patte de Mouche " in 1985 1 . In 1986, Stanislas published in the collection " X " his first album distributed in bookstores, followed by a second in 1988 1 . At the same time, he collaborated with various youth magazines, such as Tintin Reporter or J'aime lire 1 .

In 1990, Stanislas co-founded with Menu, Lewis Trondheim , David B. , Mattt Konture , Patrice Killoffer and Mokeït the comic publishing house L'Association , collaborating regularly on his review Lapin and publishing several albums, including Le Galérien en 1994 1 . He also made five "Fly Paws" and drew on a text by Anne Baraou At the passage of Why not , in 2001 2 . In 1995, PMJ Editions published a collection of his Toutinox character, appeared in the early 1980s.

At the same time, with screenwriter Laurent Rullier , he created a series of popular adventure comics, Victor Levallois , of which Alpen Publishers publishes three albums between 1990 and 1994 1 . He then embarked on a comic strip biography of Hergé , the Belgian creator of Tintin , written by José-Louis Bocquet and Jean-Luc Fromental , published in 1999 by Reporter 2 . In 2001, Reporter collects his Crazy Saver strip , especially published in Je bouquine . In 2004, the Associated Humanoids republish Victor Levallois and propose a fourth volume unpublished 1 .

In 2005, the Association publishes in its collection "Archives" an impressive collection of his early works accompanied by a long interview 3 . In disagreement with Jean-Christophe Menu , however, Stanislas leaves the structure in 2006. The following year, Delcourt publishes The Great Animator , eleventh volume of the Donjon Monsters series written by Lewis Trondheim and Joann Sfar 3 .

In 2011 and 2013, Dargaud publishes two volumes of his new series Le Perroquet des Batignolles , which he co-writes with Jacques Tardi and Michel Boujut .
