He studied there with Auguste Cormon and Jean-Paul Laurens.Artist received plenty of awards: 1894 silver medal at the National Academy of Design (New York); 1904 gold medal at the Salons des Artistes francais as an American (Paris); 1905 silver medal at the International Exhibition of Fine Arts (Liege, Belgium); 1910 silver medal at the International Exhibition held to celebrate the first hundred years of Argentina (Buenos Aires); 1926 French Legion of Honour.
