(total size), dec. silk borders, rolled on wooden jikugi, orig. kiwamebako w. kiwame fuda by Teranishi Ekido. - Lacks one wooden jikugi; silk worn along edges; paper sl. brittle. = With signed paper certificate by Kohitsu Ryoi (1751-1834). Basho is considered among the greatest masters of the haiku form and is its most famous exponent in the west, where his work has been highly influential. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE XLVI.
