This model is one of the few, still widely unknown, lighting designs that Friedrich Becker, who became known especially for his 'kinetic jewellery', has developed for mass production. Geteilte Kugel / Divided Sphere - Kinetic Sculpture. 2-part sculpture made of stainless steel, manual mechanical drive, ring magnets, on a white wooden base with acrylic glass cover. 140 x 35 x 35cm, sculpture: diameter of the ball 10cm, height 35cm. The object offered here is a model for the 1992 large sculpture 'Geteilte Kugel' in Ludwigsburg. This sculpture is 7m high and the diameter of the sphere is 2m. The upper half rotates - with the help of ring magnets - seemingly weightlessly over the lower half.
