Great Golfers: Their Methods at a Glance

      Est: $100 - $150

xxiv, 481 + 3 ad pp. Contributions by Harold Hilton, J.H. Taylor, James Braid, Alex Herd and Harry Vardon. Illustrated from 268 action photographs, including frontispiece with tissue-guard. 8 3/4 x5 3/4, gilt-decorated and lettered green cloth, top edge gilt. First Edition. Although Beldam was one of the first advocates of teaching golf through photographs, and despite the fact that this book was beautifully produced with photographs of famous players, the pictures are useless for instruction because the odd angles from which the subjects were photographed led to incorrect conclusions as to the proper method of swinging. Donovan & Murdoch 6620; Murdoch 55.
