      SERGIO BENVENUTI 1932 Lucca - Lebt und arbeitet Greve in Chianti (bei Florenz) LA DANZA Bronze, dunkelbraun patiniert. Höhe ca. 180 cm. Auf dem linken Männerfuß signiert: 'Sergio Benvenuti. Weiterhin Sockel mit Gießermarke der 'Fonderia Artistica Ferdinando Marinelli'. Provenienz: Privatbesitz Rheinland. Sergio Benvenuti war Schüler des Bildplastikers und Bildhauers Mario Moschi (1896 Lastra a Signa - Florenz 1971). Nach dem Besuch der Akademie der Schönen Künste in Florenz wurde er schon früh deren Mitglied. Er lehrte an der dortigen Kunstschule. Für diese Zeit ist eine lange Zusammenarbeit mit dem in Florenz arbeitenden Bildhauer Antonio Berti (1904 San Piero - Sesto Fiorentino 1990) nachweisbar. Es entstanden Arbeiten für den Vatikan und 1956 ein Denkmal für Alcide De Gasperi. In der hier angebotene Skulptur 'La Danza', dem Thema des Tanzes, spiegelt sich Benvenutis Leidenschaft für das Theater und die Bühne wider. Für die Mailänder Scala und für das Teatro Comunale di Firenze schuf der Künstler viele Entwürfe. Wichtige Aufträge in Japan und den USA folgten. So entstand für die Stadt San Diego der 'Brunnen der zwei Meere'. In Denver, Colorado, entwarf Benvenuti ein Reiterdenkmal für das neue Broncos-Stadion.
