Artist Mersad Berber (1940-2012) was a Bosnian painter known for his oils on canvas creations. Typically, he painted horses with or without peasant riders and portraits of women. All Mersad Berber's paintings draw from the Baroque styling of Velazquez. His paintings of horses also adopt elements of the Academic movement, blending faithful delineations of form with aesthetic tonality.
