Mersad Berber Art for Sale at Auction

Painter, Illustrator, b. 1940 - d. 2012

Artist Mersad Berber (1940-2012) was a Bosnian painter known for his oils on canvas creations. Typically, he painted horses with or without peasant riders and portraits of women. All Mersad Berber's paintings draw from the Baroque styling of Velazquez. His paintings of horses also adopt elements of the Academic movement, blending faithful delineations of form with aesthetic tonality.

His female portrait paintings consist of half- and full-length compositions contrasting Baroque faces against block abstract torsos and backgrounds. Berber also produced original woodcut prints of female portraits in abstract form. Mersad Berber prints come from other media as well, including off-set, silk-screen, and giclee in ink, acrylic, or oils.

Artist Mersad Berber exhibited at dozens of international venues during his lifetime. His signed original woodcut prints are held in both private and public collections, including the Tate Gallery. Expand your art collection by viewing further intriguing woodcut prints for sale at Invaluable.
