CONTACT US SKU#: 124609 US Shipping $60 + insurance. BIOGRAPHY: Rudolf Bereny was born in Hungary in 1869. His father, the painter Emmanuel D. Bereny, was his first mentor in painting. Then he went to Munich, Germany to continue his studies with the famous German painter Franz von Lenbach, and then he went to Paris to study under the direction of Mihaly Munkaczy.In Paris, the artist develops his work as a portraitist. Between 1905 and 1913, his participation in the Salon of French Artists is dated.In 1914, Bereny decided to migrate to Spain because of the World War I. While he was living in Madrid, his career took great flight and he achieved great fame with the portraits of the princes of Furstenberg, Pio de Savoya and Queen Maria Cristina, among others.He arrived in Argentina in August 1915, where he settled permanently. His work is well received in that country. He had a solo show at the Witcomb Gallery in 1939 and attended the First Autumn Municipal Salon of Plastic Arts in 1945 and the National Salon of 1940.Bereny specialized in natural portraiture and executed numerous works of personalities from Argentina. In addition to portraits, he painted still lifes, natural and urban landscapes.Among some of his works we can mention: "Madame et son chien dans un interieur" (1910), "My city-three epocas" (1945), "Drops of fire" (1943), among others.Rudolf Bereny died in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1946. His work continues to be valued and marketable, especially drawings, watercolors and paintings.
