Bruno Bernard Sold at Auction Prices

b. 1911 - d. 1987

Bruno Bernard (1911-1987) was one of the best known glamour photographers in the golden era of Hollywood. He was called the "Discoverer" of Marilyn Monroe and his conception of the perfect model was the "natural, normal American girl".

One of his most famous photographs is the photo of Marilyn Monroe where she stands over the ventilation shaft of the underground and her white skirt is blown into the air...this was done in 1954 during the photographs done for the film "The Seven Year Itch". As well as actors and actresses he photographed strippers and showgirls and many of these photos were often censored but today are considered as works of art.
