      14 photographs by photographer Alfred Bernheim - interior and exterior views of public buildings in Jerusalem. The 1960s. Among the photographs: the buildings of the National Library in Jerusalem - interior photographs showing students in the library and Photographs of the building from the outside, the Shrine of the Book, Paris Square, the Hadassah Ein Kerem Building, the facade of the Shlomo Hall building, and others. Alfred Bernheim [1885-1974] An Israeli photographer born in Germany. In the early 1930s he studied photography with Walter Haga in Weimar and applied art in Pforzheim. In 1934, following the rise of the Nazi party to power in Germany, he immigrated to Eretz Israel and settled in Jerusalem. He set up a photography lab in his home and made a living from invited photographs to various institutions, especially for Bezalel and the Hebrew University. Most of Bernheim's work focused on creating portraits and architectural photographs. In his early years in Eretz Israel, he also engaged in commercial photography in the style of the "new photography". Bernheim's estate, which includes about 20,000 negatives, is in the collection of the Israel Museum, Jerusalem. Ten photographs signed on their backs with the official stamp of photographer Alfred Bernheim. One of the photographs is signed: 'Marli Shamir'. And the rest are not signed.       Ten black-and-white photographs - interior and exterior views of the Heichal Shlomo building on King George Street in Jerusalem, by renowned architectural photographer Alfred Bernheim - signed on the back with the photographer's stamp. Jerusalem, late 1950s. Alfred Bernheim [1885-1974] An Israeli photographer born in Germany. In the early 1930s he studied photography with Walter Haga in Weimar and applied art in Pforzheim.       [10] artistic pictures, facade and interior of the Heichal Shlomo building in Jerusalem. The pictures are stamped with the artist's stamp and numbered by hand. Alfred Bernheim [1885-1974] was an Israeli photographer who immigrated from Germany. He ascended to the Land of Israel following the Nazis' rise to power, and settled in Jerusalem. He established a photography lab in his home and earned his livelihood by taking photographs ordered by various institutions, primarily the Bezalel National Disabilities House and the Hebrew University. Most of Bernheim's work focused on the creation of portraiture and photographs of architecture. He also dealt in commercial photography in the "new photography" style during his first years in the Land. Various sizes. Overall very fine condition.

      94 photographs of the Hebrew University buildings, Hadassah hospital on Mount Scopus and Heichal Shlomo building. Jerusalem, [ca. late 1930s to late 1950s]. • 58 photographs of Hadassah hospital and the Hebrew University buildings on Mount Scopus. Among them: photographs of the hospital fa?ade, treatment rooms, corridors and yards, the Medical School building, the building of the Jewish Studies Institute (present day Faculty of Law), amphitheater on Mount Scopus and more. The collection also includes four photographs of Erich Mendelsohn, architect of the Hadassah hospital, with Zalman Schocken, Henrietta Szold and other figures, during a visit to Mount Scopus. Twenty-seven of the photographs are ink-stamped on the back with Alfred Bernheim's stamp (some of the photographs were possibly taken by other photographers). • 36 photographs of Heichal Shlomo in Jerusalem, including photographs of the fa?ade of the building, the lobby, the synagogue, the ark, interior rooms and spaces, architectural elements and decorations within the building. Ink-stamped on the back with Alfred Bernheim's stamp. Alfred Bernheim (1885-1974), born in Germany, immigrated to Palestine in 1934. Bernheim specialized in commercial photography for advertising, artistic and architectural photography and was the official photographer for the architect Erich Mendelsohn. Approx. 12X17 cm to 24X17.5 cm. Condition varies. Good overall condition. Stains and blemishes (mostly slight, at margins). Trimming lines are marked on some photographs. Pasting marks on the back of some photographs. Some photographs are mounted on thick leaves. Six photographs have filing holes at margins (three with repairs). Open tear to margin of one photograph. Enclosed are two booklets published by the Hebrew University, with photographs by Alfred Bernheim: • The Hebrew University in Jerusalem, 1941.
