      BERNIER (François) Voyages de François Bernier, contenant la description des États du Grand Mogol, de l'Hindoustan, du royaume de Kachemire, etc. 2 vol. in-12 (15,6 x 9,3 cm), veau brun, dos à nerfs orné de motifs dorés, pièces de titre et de tomaison rouges ( reliure de l’époque). 330 p. (dont le frontispice, erreurs de pagination après la p. 312), 1 carte repliée.– 358 p. (dont frontispice), 10 figures hors texte dont 2 cartes repliées et 6 figures repliées. Seconde édition sous ce titre, la première datant de 1699. Une première version avait été publiée en quatre volumes entre 1670 et 1671 sous le titre d’ Histoire de la dernière révolution des États du Grand Mogol, pour le 1er volume, Événement particuliers, pour le 2e, et Mémoires du sieur Bernier pour les derniers. Orné de 3 cartes (L’empire du grand Mogol ; Carte nouvelle du Royaume de Kachemire ; Sources du Nil) et de 8 figures, dont 6 repliées, le tout gravé sur cuivre. Disciple de Gassendi et médecin à la cour de l’empereur moghol Aureng-Zeb, François Bernier relata ses expéditions notamment dans le Kashmir, région encore inconnue pour les européens en son temps. Boucher de La Richarderie décrira « sa relation parmi les meilleurs ouvrages que nous ayons de ce genre ». Bel exemplaire ayant appartenu à l’alpiniste Henri Duhamel. Plats légèrement frottés, coins émoussés, accrocs aux coiffes, mors frottés, départ de fente à l’un deux, quelques légères rousseurs.       Voyages, contenant la description des États du Grand Mogol de l'Hindoustan, du Royaume de Kachemire, etc. Amsterdam, Paul Marret, 1709-1710. 2 volumes in-12, veau jaspé, dos lisse orné, tranches mouchetées (Reliure du XVIIIe siècle). Seconde édition collective de cette excellente relation sur l'Inde et le Cachemire. Elle est comprend un frontispice répété dans les deux tomes, 3 cartes dépliantes et 8 figures hors texte de costumes, scènes, cérémonies, combat d’éléphants, fakir, etc. De la bibliothèque Tronchin au château de Bessinge, avec ex-libris manuscrit et gravé.
