NOTE: Joel Besmar Nieves studied at the Superior Art Institute and the National School of Arts at San Alejandro, Havana and later at the Vocational School of Arts in Camaguey. From 1986 to 2001, he shared his professional activities as a visual artist with academicians, imparting theoretical subjects such as art history and teaching workshops in painting, history of visual techniques, design, and illustration at the Vocational School of Arts and the Professional School of Visual Arts and Ballet in Camaguey. Aside from his professional activities as a visual artist, he has conducted design projects for theater groups and has illustrated poetry books. The artist used the theme of Gulliver's Travel as inspiration for the painting.
