    Etching, "Mater Div. Sapientiae" or "The Mother of Divine Wisdom" engraved by Pietro Bettelini (Italian, 1763 - 1829) after Renaissance master Titian (Italian, 1508? - 1576). Created as a gift to the Prince of Denmark, early 19th century. Translated inscription "To his Royal Highness Cristiano Federico Prince of Denmark, Lover and Protector of Fine Arts. The original painting is in the gallery of Prince Poniatowski [of Poland] ", signed Luigi Fabri D.D.D.. Round embossed mark lower left corner of plate. Measures: Frame: 32" x 28-1/2" Plate: 18-1/4" x 13".

    Angelica Maria Anna Kauffmann, English, Italian, Swiss, 1741 to 1807, a pair of color engravings on paper depicting Neoclassical scenes with cherubs in the gardens. Each is signed in the plate, lower left. Engraved by Pietro Bettelini, Italian, Swiss, 1763 to 1829. Inscribed in the plate, lower right. Framed. Angelica Kauffmann is known for History and portrait painting. Born in Switzerland, Angelica Kauffmann became one of the most successful artists of late 18th Century England and Italy, especially noted for history painting and portraiture. In fact, she was the only artist who declined the invitation of Catherine the Great to come to Saint Petersburg to develop the Hermitage collection, the reason being that Kauffmann was too busy with commissions. Historically her accomplishments are quite amazing because she lived at a time when women were not allowed access to professional male models. A testimony to the high regard in which she was held by her contemporaries is that Charles Willson Peale, one of America's most famous artists, named one of his daughters Angelica Kauffman Peale. Comprising Mater Divinae Sapientiae, engraved by Pietro Antonio Leone Bettelini (Italian 1763-1828) after the painting by Titian (Italian c.1490-1576), 18 inches x 13.25 inches (46 x 33.5 cm), The Madonna del Latte, engraved by Nicolas Brazin (French 1648-1710) after the painting by Antonio Correggio (Italian 1489-1534), 17 inches x 14.75 inches (43 x 37.5 cm), Flight Into Egypt, engraved by William Byrne (British 1743-1805) after the painting by Domenichino (Italian 1581-1641), 16.5 inches x 20.5 inches (42 x 52 cm), Rest on the Flight into Egypt, engraved by Schelte Adamsz Bolswert (Flemish 1586-1659) after the painting by Sir Anthony Van Dyck (Flemish 1599-1641) 16.5 inches x 22.5 inches (42 x 57 cm). Together with an engraving of the Madonna and Child with the Infant Saint John, probably Italian, 18th century and possibly after a painting by Gimignani, according to an accompanying inscription, 19.25 inches x 14.75 inches (49 x 37.5 cm). Each print contained in a matching frame glazed in Plexiglas.
