Richard Evett Bishop Art for Sale at Auction

Painter, b. 1887 - d. 1975

Born in New York in 1887, artist Richard Evett Bishop graduated from Cornell University before moving to Philadelphia. Once he established himself in Pennsylvania, he joined numerous art societies and clubs in the area. Richard Bishop's prints center around wildlife. While he created beautiful landscapes to serve as backdrops to his paintings of geese and ducks, his most detailed work went into the birds, making them the focal point of every piece.

Richard Bishop's etchings were also well received, and they include a series of etched Christmas cards that are now on display at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. In 1936, artist Richard Evett Bishop published Bishop’s Birds, which contained many of his wild bird paintings. Find your next wildlife masterpiece by purchasing vintage animal prints at Invaluable.
