Signed 'J.Dearle' in black capitals,lower left corners. The Straubbachfall is Switzerlands second highest waterfall with a sheer drop of over 1000 feet. John Dearle was a nineteenth Century English scenic & pastoral artist. Often confused with William Morris Collaborator and pre-raphaelite 'John Henry Dearle' (1860-1932).
