Measurement: Ca. 47 x 28 x 14cm. Notation: Monogrammed and numbered (inside on the strap). Publisher: Parkett-Verlag, Zurich (publisher). Number: 24/60, XX. Condition: The multiple is in very good condition. Each copy of the edition is unique. The full title is: "Geometrischer Ort der 2 Mio. $ Knödelknickerbockermigränehitshitbitssoufflévisage, drin strohmulmige Isoquante touchiert goldene Bilanzregel + Insolvenzsnob"." With Parkett magazine. "It is neither performance nor clearly installation, neither sculpture nor solely slapstick happening, neither film nor any known form of theater. Bock's work is most likely a turbulent mixture of all of these - he creates exuberant, extroverted, passionate, and often forceful but always humorous and highly absurd pieces of art. The range of Bock's artistic means is remarkably diverse; in fact, it is impossible to pin him down at all, since so much is ambiguous, cryptic, obscure, enigmatic, and mysterious. - No matter how exhausted, how worn out our world may appear, the artist confronts us with an unstoppable avalanche of visual impressions and artistic stunts, as if everything still remains to be said, seen, or heard." Bock, John FischGrätenMelkStand - Modell für die gleichnamige Ausstellung. …

        Est: €9,000 - €10,800

Bock, John FischGrätenMelkStand - Modell für die gleichnamige Ausstellung. 2010. mixed media.

        John Bock (b. 1965), Drawing of a Figure on a Cube, 1995

        Est: €1,120 - €1,400

Pencil and acrylic on paper Germany, 1995 John Bock (b. 1965) – German performance artist Signed and dated in pencil lower right ‘Bock 95’ With dedication ‘für Christoph’ Sheet size: A4 Good condition Provenance: Private collection Berlin Expressive drawing with dynamic lines, typical of the artist’s oeuvre; works on paper by John Bock fetch over 5,800 euros at international auctions The present work on paper by John Bock was created in 1995. The drawing depicts a human figure seated on a geometric form. The body is strangely distorted, the face – with a wondering expression and bared teeth – is facing the viewer. With simple artistic means the German artist, who is primarily known for his multimedia installations and performances, captures human incomprehension. A powerful and poetic little work! The drawing is in good condition. The upper margin is yellowed, there are faint stains along the lower margin. The figure shows minimal color loss here and there. The work is signed and dated in pencil lower right ‘Bock 95’. The lower centre bears the dedication ‘für Christoph’. The sheet has an A4 format. John Bock (b. 1965) John Bock was born in Schleswig-Holstein in 1965. After studying business administration, he attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg. Since 1991, he creates environments from found objects, which he uses for his performances. Later he was increasingly drawn to the medium of film. In 1999, Bock participated in the Venice Biennale, an in 2002 in the Documenta 11 in Kassel. From 2004 onwards, he taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe as a professor for sculpture. Today, John Bock lives and works in Berlin. His works are in the collections of the MoMA in New York, the Castello di Rivoli in Turin, and the Center for Contemporary Art in Kitakyushu, Japan. John Bock is represented by Galerie Kloterfelde in Berlin, Anton Kern Gallery in New York, and Regen Projects, Los Angeles. Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance. Est: €1,120 - €1,400

Collage, watercolor and magazine cut-out on paper Germany, 1995 John Bock (b. 1965) – German performance artist Monogrammed and dated in pencil lower right ‘JB 95’ Dedication ‘für Christoph’ on the verso Sheet size: A4 Very good condition Provenance: Private collection Berlin An erotic collage in the artist’s typical reduced formal language; works on paper by John Bock fetch over 5,800 euros at international auctions The present work on paper by John Bock (b. 1965) was created in 1995. Partly drawing, partly collage, the work depicts an explicitly erotic theme in Bock’s reduced formal language. Due to the humoristic manner of representation the subject matter does not seem vulgar. The male nude is presumably a self-portrait of the artist. Bock, who is primarily known for his multimedia installations and performances, enjoys combining different materials and subject matter in whimsical collages, leaving their interpretation to the viewer. The collage is in very good condition with minor creases partly due to the nature of the work. The work is monogrammed and dated in pencil lower right ‘JB 95’. The verso bears the dedication ‘für Christoph’. The sheet has an A4 format. John Bock (b. 1965) John Bock was born in Schleswig-Holstein in 1965. Party drawing, partly collage, the work illustrates the history of mankind in the Western hemisphere. The combination of magazine cut-outs and dynamic sketch seems random at first, but the composition was in fact conceived very deliberately. The German artist, who is primarily known for his multimedia installations and performances, enjoys combining different materials and subject matter in whimsical collages, leaving their interpretation to the viewer. Pencil and acrylic on paper Germany, 1995 John Bock (b. 1965) - German performance artist Signed and dated in pencil lower right 'Bock 95' With dedication 'für Christoph' Sheet size: A4 Good condition Provenance: Private collection Berlin Expressive drawing with dynamic lines, typical of the artist's oeuvre; works on paper by John Bock fetch over 5,800 euros at international auctions The present work on paper by John Bock was created in 1995. The drawing depicts a human figure seated on a geometric form. The body is strangely distorted, the face - with a wondering expression and bared teeth - is facing the viewer. The work is signed and dated in pencil lower right 'Bock 95'. The lower centre bears the dedication 'für Christoph'. The sheet has an A4 format.
