    (1847 Berlin - 1932 ebenda) Isarlandschaft mit junger Ziegenhirtin bei Bad Tölz Impressiv aufgefasste, mit weich-pastosem Duktus gemalte Landschaft bei Abenddämmerung. Bodenstein, Sohn des führenden Berliner Dekorations-, Stuben- und Schildermalers Moses Jacob Bodenstein, studierte ab 1863 an der Akademie bei Hermann Schnee. 1873 ging er nach München und schloss sich der Gruppe um Adolf Lier an; 1886 kehrte er nach Berlin zurück. Bodenstein spezialisierte sich auf stimmungsvolle Landschaftsbilder, die er seit 1874 regelmäßig auf den jährlichen Berliner Akademie-Ausstellungen zeigte. Motive für seine Landschaften fand er sowohl im Alpenraum als auch in der Mark Brandenburg und an der schleswig-holsteinischen Westküste, insbesondere der Insel Sylt. Öl/Lwd.; R. u. sign. u. dat.
