The piece depicts a women, who appears to be "dancing with the devil", with a gorgeous sunset behind them. This extremely rare piece is a hand signed, artist proof. The piece is signed in the lower right and "a/p" (artist proof) in the lower left. Back when limited editions were hand-pulled from a one-man lithograph press, the artist's proofs were the first prints pulled off a fresh "stone" (the plate which was drawn or etched by the artist to create the prints). The stone wore down as the number of prints was increased, so the APs were the sharpest and most colorful of the lot. Bogaert has been called controversial, aggressive, prolific, and brilliant, and has also been called a visual archeologist of today's popular subcultures. His sketches, fine prints, paintings, and murals are in public and private collections around the world. This gorgeous piece is professionally framed, and ready to display.
