Another panel with the same topic is in the church of Santo Tomás Cantuariense in Toro Condition: The painting is in good condition, according to age, with fresh looking colors. The panel has been cradled on the reverse, being a bit warped consistent with the material. The paint surface shows typical craquelure, slight abrasion and tiny paint chippings. The inspection under UV light reveals several touch-ups throughout the depiction. The varnish has been renewed. There are some discolored touch-ups visible to the naked eye. The frame has little losses. The dimensions are 120 x 118 cm, and the frame measures 140.5 x 137 cm. Juan de Borgoña II (c. 1500 - c. 1565) Juan de Borgoña was the son of the painter Juan de Borgoña the Elder (active c. 1495-1536), who is considered one of the propagators of Quattrocento painting in Castile today. Juan the Younger worked in Zamora from 1530 and is attributed to the second generation of Toledian artists. He was educated probably from his father, as well as Francisco Comontes and Juan Correa de Vivar. After his father's death, he finished some of his commissions. Furthermore, several reredos in the region of Zamora and an altarpiece in San Martín of Pinilla de Toro have been attributed to him, amongst others. (cko) Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
