            Neil (James Neil) Boyle (Canada, 1931-2006) Repairing the Hub Late 20th Century The sunlit oil on canvas composition of a Western genre scene is signed lower right front and inscribed with the tongue-in-cheek designation of BSWCA which the artist adopted as his acronym for 'Big Shot West Coast Artist' later in his career when he had returned to teaching at the California Art Institute, and began painting Western subjects like this. Neil Boyle was a Canadian artist known for his work in illustration, fine art, and art instruction. He studied at the Vancouver School of Art and the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. He later taught at both of these.
