Tritan Braho Art for Sale and Sold Prices

Tritan Braho - The focus of my paintings is only one point of the canvas, leaving the rest of the composition blurred. An important part of my work is the observation of my chosen objects in space through the lens of the camera, which tends to mimic the human eye. The starting point of my work is always a photograph from where my paintings take their visual qualities, for example, sharp elements emerge above a blurry, out of focus ones. My work transfers the mechanical capturing of an image through a camera to a painting.

With my choice of subject my aim is to impose a sense of beauty and importance on what may be usually dismissed and considered unworthy of attention in everyday life. I try to do this by putting my chosen object into focus and seeing them through a different light, reinventing them and giving them a new dignity.

Tritan’s work “Key” recently appeared on the Steven and Chris Show http://www.cbc.ca/stevenandchris/
