L'après-midi d'un faune. Translation by Aldous Huxley. Drawings by John Buckland Wright.

      Est: €120 - €150

4to. - Edition limited to 200 copies (n. 11) on Barcham Green's hand-made paper. Designed, produced and published by Christopher Sandford, printed at The Chiswick Press. Collotype reproductions of 9 drawings by Buckland Wright, four full-page printed in green. Text printed in sanguine in Gill Sans. Buckland Wright began to work on "L’Après-midi d’un faune" in 1936 for his own imprint "JBW Editions". He found it difficult to decide on the best technique for the illustrations and, under pressure from other work, he temporarily abandoned the project although he did keep making drawings and plates for the book. Eventually he decided on collotype reproductions of his drawings. This Golden Cockerel Press edition is the English translation by Huxley of JBW’s French edition produced in the same year as the posthumous publication. - Ref.
