The artist's bead paintings are his most famous works, and are inspired by the Yoruba tradition of incorporating beadwork designs into ceremonial fabrics and beaded crowns. In 1967 the Goethe Institute in Lagos organised Buraimoh's first exhibition of bead paintings, and since then he has exhibited his work internationally.

Here he was taught printmaking, painting and how to create mosaics with tiles and beads. He went on to specialise in bead paintings, where he strings the beads on cotton thread and then glues them to the board creating texture and depth. He takes inspiration from the grandeur of the traditional Yoruba crowns. In 1972, he represented Nigeria in the First All-African Trade Fair in Nairobi, Kenya, and his artwork has since been internationally exhibited. Condition Report: Framed size 63 x 78cm

(Geb. 1943 Osogbo/Nigeria) Komposition mit Krebsen Großformatiges Perlengemälde Buraimohs, der zu den bedeutendsten Künstlern Nigerias gehört. 1964 besuchte Buraimoh den Oshogbo-Workshop der Künstlerin Georgina Beier, wo er lernte, Fliesen und kleine Perlen zu bemalen und einzulegen, um Mosaiktafeln und Tische herzustellen. Nach und nach erweiterte er sein Repertoire um Perlenmalereien und Wandmalereien. 1967 organisierte das Goethe-Institut in Lagos Buraimohs eine erste Ausstellung mit Perlenmalereien, und seitdem stellt er seine Arbeiten international aus. Buraimohs Perlenmalereien sind seine berühmtesten Werke. Hierbei ließ er sich von traditionellen Yoruba-Perlenkronen inspirieren: "Ich war schon immer von diesen Kronen fasziniert. Ich mochte die schimmernden Farben, die Designs, die Muster und vor allem das teure Aussehen und die Erhabenheit (...)". Die Perlenarbeiten Buraimohs erinnern auch an traditionelle Perlenmäntel, Stäbe und Hocker der Yoruba. Der Künstler fädelt Perlen auf Baumwollfäden auf und klebt sie auf die Oberfläche eines Brettes. Wenn sie eng aneinander auf einer ebenen Fläche platziert werden, erzeugen die Perlen reliefierte Oberflächen, eine Vielzahl von Formen und eine Illusion von Tiefe.
